Amanda Goodman

Amanda Goodman joined Basildon Swimming club as a youngster aged 8, and has swum for Basildon ever since. As a young swimmer, Amanda progressed from being Essex County Champion and competing at National Age groups, to competing for Bath University making finals at British Students Championships.

After leaving University, Amanda continued to compete in Master’s competitions. She has won 6 British Masters Championships, formerly held a British Masters Record at 200m breaststroke, and still holds 3 individual Masters East Region records. Amanda has competed at numerous European and World Masters events and won 3 bronze medals at the European Masters Swimming Championships in Stockholm in 2005.

At Bath University, she was selected to play water polo for the England student’s team, and played National League Water Polo for 10 years, becoming captain of a National League side.

After gaining some experience at open water swimming and being main support swimmer for her brother’s English Channel Crossing in 2010, she took part in a successful English Channel relay crossing in 2013.

Amanda started helping Academy swimmers in 2015 and qualified as an ASA Level 2 Swimming Coach in 2016. She is very excited to have the opportunity to help the youngsters reach their full potential, and would love to see the young swimmers of today enjoy competitive swimming as long as she has.
